Cornerstone Coaching International was created by Angela Bird in 1999. Angela brings to the business many years of experience in fields as diverse as Psychology, Adult Education, Health and Fitness, Small Business Development and Professional Mentoring, to name a few. Angela has a wisdom, honesty and insight that provides value to clients from many different walks of life.

Profile - Angela R Bird

Angela is the CEO and head coach of Cornerstone International, an Austrade registered Australian Business Supplier that provides coaching services to CEOs, executives and organisations around the world.

Angela already has a lifetime of achievement well beyond her years in the field of supporting people and business through change and transformation. Her coaching is grounded in the field of Psychology with a B.Sc. (Psychology) from the Australian National University (ANU) in Canberra, a Certificate in Coaching Psychology from University of Sydney , Certificate in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (I), and a Certificate IV Assessment and Training. Angela is also qualified in the use of several personal assessment tools including the 360 degree assessments (MLQ).

This theoretical foundation of human behaviour, combined with 25 years of personal business experience, combined with a strong grounding in the coaching process, has placed Angela, in a unique position as a coach. Many coaches come to coaching with either a business OR a helping profession background, Angela has both!

Angela is both an advocate and driver of the development of coaching /psychology practice, and currently holds executive positions on several Australian Psychological Society committees at both the national and state levels. She is a business mentor for the Queensland Government "mentoring for growth" program and an active member of both the Reputation Institute in Belgium and the European Mentoring and Coaching Council.

Angela is also an inspiring speaker who is frequently asked to speaking at a variety of events. Her most recent being at the University of Queensland, School of Psychology, to PhD and Masters Students on "Coaching vs Therapy".

Angela combines all this with her experience of many varied fields, including:

	Reputation Management and Social Responsibility Communications;
	Human Resource Management (corporate and SME),
	Individual and Business Coaching (Cornerstone Coaching International – 4yrs)

	Small Business Start-up, development, positioning, alliance development, sales and energy management.

Angela has managed to achieve success in all of these areas while balancing the other demands in her life, including raising and supporting a family, remaining physically healthy and active, constantly seeking knowledge and personal development, and living each day to its fullest!

Originally born in Kenya in the days leading up to the country's independence in 1964, Angela 's family then moved to Australia. Growing upon the Gold Coast gave her the sense that lifestyle holds an important place in an individuals overall happiness. Angela joined Ansett in 1981, which took her to live in Sydney for 11 years. The next 11 years were spent in Australia's capital, Canberra prior to her moving back to the Gold Coast in early 2002. She has always maintained her sense of adventure and zest for life which has led her to achieving things that most people only dream of.

Her professional experience is wide and covers fields as diverse as aviation, banking and finance, organisational psychology, human resources, advertising, sales, marketing, real estate, and IT (Angela even has experience in animal training and hand-feeding sharks!).

In the 1980's Angela developed a passion for coaching whilst working alongside some of Australia's high-profile people. During this time Angela discovered that people who hold high-profile or senior positions, have almost no opportunity to discuss, create, build dreams, be challenged or told the truth, in an agenda fee space. Realising this gap, Angela has spent the last 4 years developing a reputation for providing truthful, confidential, supportive and individually structured coaching partnerships with high-profile people, business owners, senior executives and entrepreneurs to guide and support them in building sustainable, ethical and socially responsible businesses and happier healthier lifestyles.

Angela works collaboratively with her clients to help them understand the roles they have chosen in their life and why. Working one-on-one with them to create a high-level of internal and external awareness by challenging belief systems, sharing insights and supporting the change required to live life differently.

Angela is a passionate advocate for the profession of high level, high quality coaching. Currently, she is a popular speaker for those interested in Coaching, as either a career choice or an adjunct to their current profession. Combining her skill and passion, Angela has developed and runs the "Leadership Skills for Women: What's Holding you Back" Program for women in business.

Some of her other activities include, providing free counseling for children and adolescents who have experienced grief and loss or trauma in their lives, learning, traveling, personal fitness, creating a home which provides an environment of sanctuary and invigoration, and most of all sharing unconditional love with her beautiful children.
